Photoshop This Week: Top Five 01.08.10

Happy New Year! Time to get serious about some Photoshop fun! All kinds of goodies this week from vintage war poster to the latest and greatest in lens technology. Yes I do post this list each and every week! Find anything interesting, make sure and check out my past and future editions. 1. "Gee, I wish I were a man...": Vintage ads & posters: I love vintage stuff and John Nack has found a bunch for us.
  2. New First DVD/Book Project of 2010: “Photo Recipes: Behind The Scenes”: I just got my hands on a copy of this new book DVD set from Scott Kelby. I as a visual learner so I’m excited to actually see these photo-shoot set ups in action as they are created. I feel a new book review coming soon.
  3. Amazing Alphabet Illustrations by Paul Thurlby: Oh boy do I love these illustrations. Very cool and vintinage/gunge looking...making them fun and fun! Thanks to abduzeedo for pulling this together.
  4. Canon releases EF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS II USM lens: Wow! I’ve been wanting to add the old version of this lens to my glass collection for more than a year. Now this new lens is even better...the lens features improved image stabilization allowing it to compensate for shutter speeds up to four steps slower than 1/focal length, a one step improvement over the previous lens model. Now I just need to round up a couple grand to pay for it!
  5. Robin Hood 2010 Movie Poster: This is a rarity in the fantasy movie poster world...what appears to be just a damn good but of photography with very little Photoshop work. I could be wrong. As much as I love Photoshop a great untouched photo has a real authenticity to it in 2010.
